Izan Satrina Mohd Sallehuddin, Founding CEO of CENDANA
Izan Satrina Mohd Sallehuddin, Founding CEO of CENDANA said, “Private giving and corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts are essential for the sustainability of the arts and culture sector. Businesses should recognize that supporting arts and cultural programmes can help to build their surrounding communities. The stronger the community is, the better the business opportunities can be for a company. A city with a vibrant artistic and cultural scene often attracts and retain better talent, and a company that is directly involved with that vibrancy is set up to better retain and grow that talent. Businesses that support local arts and cultural organizations can add value to their corporate brand and eventually at times their bottom line”.
Nurturing Malaysian creativity through private giving and corporate social responsibility is essential, because it nurtures Malaysia as a whole. Therefore, better engagement with donors and business partners is paramount to a more effective and meaningful growth in the arts.
